GDP Annual Meeting Set for September 20 in Istanbul
Global Dairy Platform (GDP) has finalized the agendas for the upcoming Marketing Meeting and Annual Meeting in Istanbul on Friday, Sept. 20. Both meetings will be held in the Crystal Ballroom at the Hilton Istanbul Bomonti Hotel and Conference Center. The Marketing Meeting is from 08:30 to 11:30, followed by a luncheon for all Marketing Meeting and Annual Meeting attendees. GDP’s Annual Meeting will take place in the afternoon from 13:30 to 17:00, followed by a networking reception from 18:30 to 21:30 at the Kilimanjaro Restaurant, which is across the street from the hotel.

In addition, the Dairy Sustainability Framework Annual Members Meeting will be held on Saturday, Sept. 21, from 08:00 to 15:00 in Room 25 of the Hilton Istanbul Bomonti Hotel and Conference Center. Everyone is welcome to attend.
Kazuo Kawamura Joins GDP Board of Directors
GDP is pleased to announce that Mr. Kazuo Kawamura, President of Meiji Holdings Co. Limited, Japan, has joined its Board of Directors.
“We are delighted to have Mr. Kawamura on the GDP Board to represent our Japanese members,” said Mr. Rick Smith, GDP Board Chair and Dairy Farmers of America President and Chief Executive Officer. “The dairy industry in Japan is very important and Meiji, along with Morinaga and Megmilk Snow Brands, are key members of GDP. Mr. Kawamura is also the current Chairman of J-Milk, which represents the Japanese dairy sector, and he will bring his vast experience to help drive GDP’s mission to align and support the industry in promoting sustainable dairy nutrition.”

Statement on IPCC Land Use Report
Global Dairy Platform and the International Dairy Federation have issued a joint statement on the recent Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change report on climate change and land use. The report, which recognizes the potential of livestock production in adaptation and mitigation of climate change and does not suggest a shift away from animal-sourced foods, has been misrepresented by some media.
