Global Dairy Platform (GDP) has launched a new World Milk Day (WMD) website that provides more information and materials to help dairy companies, associations and others plan and execute their campaigns.

This year’s WMD theme is “Let’s Celebrate the Power of Dairy,” with messaging and content reflecting the dairy sector’s vital role in a sustainable global food system. The celebration will be on and around June 1, 2025.

The new website features:

  • Case studies from companies and associations across the world covering the four primary WMD campaign types – Events, Social Media, Partnerships and Paid Advertising
  • Media materials, such as digital graphics and farmer videos
  • Background about the dairy sector that can be used for dairy advocacy all year long

Coming soon: Updated motion graphic and farmer videos; global messaging that can be used for articles and social media posts; and a WMD Activation Guide for the 2025 campaign.

In 2024, the dairy sector came together in a big way for WMD, with contributions from more than 100 countries from Australia to Zimbabwe. The campaign tallied a record 2.7 million social media engagements and more than 924 million impressions. Here is the full report of the WMD results.

In 2025, social media activity will continue to be an important measurement, and we’ll also track events, advertising campaigns and partnerships. We ask all participants to register via the campaign resources request form to get access to the website’s media materials. Then, after your event, please share your success through this form on the website so we can include you in the 2025 report and possibly feature you on the WMD website!
